Halloween Activities

Halloween family fun is happening all month long in Shelby Township! Here are just a few ideas for all ages:

Friday Night Wagon Ride at Stoney Creek Metropark
Friday, October 14 and 28 at 6 p.m.
Enjoy a nature wagon ride through the woods and fields of the park, then gather around a fire ring for stories, cider and donuts. Recommended ages 6 and up. Learn more.

River Bends Park Halloween Spooktacular
Saturday, October 15, noon-5 p.m.

Fall Family Fun Day at Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center
Sunday, October 16, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Something for the entire family, this event includes a campfire cookout, costumed animal characters and wagon rides. Learn more.

Shelby Township Senior Center’s annual Halloween Party
Thursday, October 20 at 11 a.m.
Join in the fun party with an Octoberfest theme. Costumes are encouraged (but not required), however advance tickets are required. Learn more.

Trick or Read at the Shelby Township Library
Thursday, October 20, 6-7 p.m.
Come dressed in Halloween costumes for “trick or read” around the library. Stories, crafts and surprises for all. Learn more.

Shelby Township Senior Center’s Monster Mash Dinner Dance
Friday, October 21 at 5:30 p.m.
Put together your most excellent Halloween fare and bring your dancing shoes for dancing to the music of the Tommy James Band. The buffet dinner is served at 6 p.m. Learn more.

Teen Mystery Night at the Shelby Township Library
Friday, October 21, 6-7:30 p.m.
A night of mystery and murder. You are the detective and will investigate evidence, crime scenes and suspects to solve the crime. Learn more.

Halloween Characters at Stoney Creek Metropark
Saturday, October 22 at 11 a.m.
This not-too-scary Halloween event with treats, crafts and characters is perfect for children in third grade and younger. Please come in costume and pre-register. Learn more.

Haunted Nature Center at Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center
Friday and Saturday, October 21-22, 6-8 p.m.
The nature center is transformed into a haunted nature center. Visitors will find scary costumed creatures and spooky scenes. Bring bags for treats. May not be appropriate for younger children. Learn more.
